The BCHS Library. Yours to Discover

Welcome to the BCHS Library!

Here you will discover:

  • A professional, approachable staff, committed to assisting students in achieving success by providing them with the tools to locate appropriate and timely resources.
  • A learning space that is quiet.
  • Varied resources that promote the enjoyment of reading!

For everything you need to know about the Library, visit the BCHS Destiny Library!

For your smart phone/android/tablet, download the Destiny Quest App from your app store. Enter the Library URL (http://destiny.spschools.org) when indicated, then choose the correct school from the list provided. This gives you access to the basic catalogue. If you wish to have more access to your library account (access to holds, current titles out, fines, etc.) please see the Library staff for assistance.

Other Online Resources:

  • Exam Bank: BCHS Students can access the ExamBank questions using the Bellerose information (just ask your teacher or the Librarian for login details)
  • Learn Alberta and The Online Reference Centre (ORC): An online multi-database resource provided for all Alberta students, and great for all types of research! Login and password is automatically set for use within Bellerose BUT for use at home, please see Library staff for the login and password.
  • World and I SchoolWorldandISchool Logo-1: A cross-curriculum resource – Social Studies, ELA, Sciences, the Arts, Spanish, and ESL. Login and password is automatically set for use within Bellerose BUT for use at home, please see Library staff for the login and password.

Late/Overdue Materials and Textbooks:

  • All textbooks are signed out from, and returned to, the Library.  Reminder email notices are send periodically during the school year and at each semester end, regarding late/lost books.
  • All textbooks due to be returned to the Library when that subject exam is written. That may be on the last day of your class OR on the day you write that subject exam. All are due ABSOLUTELY no later than the dates as indicated on posters/the website/newsletters/video information screens/etc. Please see the Library IMMEDIATELY if you have lost your textbook – we can probably find it for you!
  • Notices are sent via email (and/or mailed if necessary) for all lost or damaged texts.

Student ID Cards:

  • Student ID cards are issued at the time your school photo is taken.
  • Remember! Student ID is required to sign out Library items (including a limited supply of calculators for one-block use only), textbooks, and to use laptops and Chromebooks within the Library.
  • Never lose your school ID again! On your app-friendly device, download a Loyalty Card app, such as “Stocard” or “Cardstar”, and follow instructions to create a card with your school barcode id. Enter your school 8-digit ID number, and name it “BCHS”.  You can also take a good, clear photograph of your complete school-issued ID card and keep it on your cell phone.  See us for help!
