Food Studies 10, 20, 30

5 Credits per course

Food studies courses offer students the opportunity to develop daily life skills and career skills. Individual courses are comprised of both practical application and theoretical
learning. The introductory course is designed to introduce the concepts of food safety and sanitation, nutrition, food preparation and presentation, emphasizing the relevance of
Canada’s Food Guide to personal wellness. Meals, desserts, and snacks will be prepared. The intermediate and advanced courses allow students the opportunity to expand upon
course concepts and to gain expertise in cake/pastry baking and decorating, yeast bread baking, soup and sauce making, meat and fish cookery, food presentation, and international foods.

Prerequisite:  10 is a prerequisite for 20; 20 is a prerequisite for 30. Course Fee:  $40.00 for each level.
