Who Do You Want to Be?

U.N.E.S.C.O. Associated Schools Project Network

Bellerose Composite High School has applied to become a candidate school as part of the U.N.E.S.C.O. Associated Schools Project Network (ASPNet). U.N.E.S.C.O., the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization launched the ASPNet in 1953 to ensure quality education by strengthening four main pillars of learning:

  • learning to know;
  • learning to do;
  • learning to be; and
  • learning to live together.

These pillars focus on four themes of study:

  1. world concerns and the role of the United Nations system;
  2. education for sustainable development;
  3. peace, human rights and tolerance; and
  4. intercultural learning and dialogue.

Our school is committed to preparing students to address the challenges of an increasingly complex and interdependent world. We strive to expose our students to a reality beyond the classroom walls, to build a collective sense of responsibility in them to make a positive difference in the world. As such, Bellerose Composite High School is committed to working with others to develop innovative educational approaches to issues, to build further partnerships in the community and to support our students as they transition to global citizenry.
